DESCRIPTION:The Bay Area Rescue Mission is hosting the "Heart of Rescue' ev
 ent at the Craneway Pavilion in Richmond from 2 - 4pm. If  you saw the mo
 vie 'Coach Carter'\, you will want to join us so you can hear the real C
 oach Carter\, who is our keynote speaker.  As the Richmond High School b
 asketball coach\, he became the focus of the movie after he made a controv
 ersial decision in 1999 to emphasize education over basketball - forfeitin
 g games until grades  improved\, even when the team made the play-offs.\n
 \nCoach Carter now lives in Texas but he is flying in for our event.\n\nTh
 e 'Heart of Rescue' event is designed to raise awareness about the homeles
 s crisis and what we\, as individuals can do to help\, as well as the role
  of the Bay Area Rescue Mission in addressing the problem.\n\nThe event is
  free but participants need to sign up in advance on Eventbright (mainly
  for our planning purposes). We'll have great appetizers and live music.\n
