Sisters in Solidarity Supporters and Friends,

International Women’s Day is on March 8th. The theme for 2022 is #BreaktheBias. This year will mark the 15th Annual Sisters in Solidarity International Women’s Day celebration. Due to the pandemic and the challenges it causes with event planning and everyday activities, we are going to join the International Women’s Day campaign by encouraging individuals and organizations to facilitate and promote virtual activities. We regret that there will not be an in-person or virtual event, but we are happy to share ideas and activities to celebrate IWD.

Social Media Campaign – Imagine a gender equal world.

Individuals and organizations are encouraged to post pictures while holding the 2022 BreakTheBias pose to their social media pages.

Here is how J. Take a picture in the 2022 Themed Pose by crossing your arms to show solidarity. Post your picture on your social media using #IWD2022 #BreakTheBias #SIS2022 and tag the SIS FaceBook Page. Refer to the attached for more details.

Please make sure that you post your picture on or before March 8th and try to keep it up for the entire month of March to celebration Women’s Day and Month.

In lieu of an in-person or virtual celebration, we are asking our friends to participate in the Social Media Campaign. Our Planning Committee will post a video to acknowledge IWD and encourage others to do the same. We will reach out to our Community Partner Organizations and former Table Hosts to invite them to facilitate virtual Lean in Circles to strategize on ways to Break the Bias in 2022.

We hope that we will be able to resume our in-person celebrations in 2023. In the meantime, we would like to express our gratitude for your continued support in uplifting women and recognizing International Women’s Day. More information to come.
